How these statistics are calculated
Counts come from Toronto Police Service open data (major crime indicators, year-to-date reports, and break-and-enter feeds), deduplicated by incident ID and grouped by the date each incident occurred. The per-100,000 figure uses the 2021 census population of 2,794,356. Reported counts are not the same as total crime: reporting rates vary by offence type, and neighbourhood counts are not population-adjusted.
